Affinity recently had the honour of hosting Paul Hannaford, a remarkable individual whose life story is both a cautionary tale and a beacon of hope. Paul grew up in East London and Essex, initially a bright and happy child with dreams of playing football for West Ham. However, by age 13, he became involved with drugs, which led to a life of crime and addiction. Over the years, his drug use escalated, leading to severe health issues and numerous convictions. After reaching a breaking point and receiving life-saving medical intervention, Paul turned his life around. He has been clean since 2009 and now dedicates himself to educating others about the dangers of drug addiction.

Paul’s visit had a profound impact on our students. His engaging presentation, marked by raw honesty and heartfelt passion, captivated the audience and left a lasting impression. Students were not only moved by his personal story but also motivated to make positive choices in their own lives.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Paul Hannaford for visiting Affinity College. His work is invaluable, and he is making a huge difference in the lives of young people across the country. His dedication to raising awareness about the perils of addiction is truly inspiring, and we are grateful for the positive influence he has had on our students.
